Since 1 January 2026, Czech law provides a limited personal-use exception for adults aged 21 and over. The quantity allowed in one’s dwelling differs from the quantity allowed outside it. This guide was reviewed on 9 September 2026.

The quantity bands

The government’s national drug report explains the personal-use limits and the separate criminal-offence thresholds. These figures concern the adult personal-use framework, not supply to others. Czech government: national drug report 2025.

LocationPermitted within the applicable conditionsAdministrative-offence bandCriminal-offence threshold
In one’s own dwellingUp to 100 gMore than 100 g, up to 200 gMore than 200 g
Outside one’s own dwellingUp to 25 gMore than 25 g, up to 50 gMore than 50 g

The higher figures are not additional legal allowances. The exception does not extend to people under 21. The meaning of one’s dwelling and the circumstances of possession also matter; a hotel booking or a shared address should not be treated as a complete legal assessment. Nor should a domestic quantity limit be treated as permission to travel internationally with cannabis. Even medical patients need to check destination and transit-country rules. SÚKL: travel restrictions.

This table is not a dosing guide and does not determine the legal treatment of every extract, preparation or mixed product. For a specific possession case, consult a qualified Czech lawyer. For the separate plant-count rules, read our three-plant legal explanation.
